My recent cataract removal surgery left me astonished by the changes in color and clarity in my vision. So I did the only reasonable thing and made some little quilts to illustrate the changes. The differences were especially stark after I had one eye corrected and was awaiting the second.
The central circle of Clarity shows pre-surgery colors and the outer background shows the heightened colors I saw with my “new” eye. Just amazing.
Opposing Viewpoints illustrates my eyes trying to decide which tones to favor … the yellowish tint of the old or the bluish tint of the new.
Four Eyes is my homage to lenses of all kinds and my status as a confirmed glasses wearer.
