When choosing fabrics, the phone’s mono filter is great for checking color value. Sometimes the brightness of colors can obscure their relative values and lead to an unbalanced composition. The mono (black & white) filter eliminates the color and lets you see just the dark/light value.
I also use my phone to record potential layouts and progress. Referring to a photo while piecing has saved me from many errors and those occasions when I work out the perfect layout and a sudden “wind” comes through and rearranges it all …
