Fifty years ago “Emily” was a quaint, old-fashioned name and rather uncommon. Now? Not so much. You can call up pages and pages of Emilys with any search engine … and whittling those lists down by adding the last name “Williams” still leaves a substantial army of Emilys.
For example, I searched for Emily on etsy.com. There are 277,728 people named Emily on etsy … only 25,552 are shop owners … and a mere 1149 are named Emily Williams. Yikes.
Just think what we could accomplish if we all got together …
So, I took action on a small scale and put together an etsy team of shop owners named Emily. I’m hoping it will be fun to connect with other Emilys and promote each other’s shops. It will at least make for some interesting conversations.
When I was young, it was always a disappointment to look at the dime store displays of personalized key chains and such … rarely was there an Emily. Now? Well there is an upside of being everywhere! In honor of that, I put together an etsy treasury of Emily-themed items for Valentine’s Day. Yay for Emily!
